Good Samaritans leave humorous message on lost phone

A pair of good-hearted Gold Coast larrikins who returned a new dad's missing phone scored a slab of beer for their efforts, which included leaving the owner a hilarious video message.

Having recently become a father, Michael Martin was slightly distracted and more than a little distressed when he dropped his phone at Burleigh Hill – the device contained the only video of his son’s birth.

But the precious vision proved to be in the safe, if unlikely, hands of Paul Ahern, 24, and Trent Kaiser, 24, a pair of mates from Palm Beach who found the phone on the ground.

PhoneAngel.com - FBI Hacks iPhone - Privacy Issues

FBI hacks iPhone: Does this make your phone less
private?

Weeks of contentious debate weighing privacy rights against the government's need to investigate terrorism came to an end Monday when the FBI said it found a way to gain access to Syed Rizwan Farook's iPhone 5c.
The announcement may have staved off a historic court battle, but questions still linger about how the government gained access to the device and what implications the FBI's tactics will have beyond the investigation into the San Bernardino terror attacks.
How did the FBI get access to the data on Farook's phone?
Federal prosecutors did not offer many specifics. Apple and the Department of Justice were headed for a court battle last week before federal prosecutors made an eleventh-hour request for a delay, announcing that an outside group may have found a technique to hack the device.
The breakthrough came last weekend, according to an anonymous law enforcement official, who would not say how the device was hacked or what information the government found on Farook's iPhone.
Previously, the FBI had been stonewalled by an update Apple made to its encryption practices in September 2014. Farook had enabled an auto-erase feature that would permanently delete all data on the phone after 10 consecutive failed attempts to enter the device's password.
Data on the phone would be scrambled unless a correct password was entered, and Apple has repeatedly said it would need to create technology to defeat that encryption. Farook intentionally disabled the phone's iCloud backup feature six weeks before the Dec. 2 attacks, according to court documents.

Kenyan chief's Twitter feed helps round up stolen cows and lost phones

It is morning and young men sit slumped in front of the general store, looking slightly dazed. Tall sunflowers in a field seem to sway to music blasting from a huge, ancient speaker. One man is dancing. Business is slow.

A brown cow was stolen this morning from Gwakiongo.

A man fixes a balcony in front of a small shop, hammering nails noisily into timber. A woman chases her cows into the red dust road. A mother rakes rubbish into a heap to burn.

A child recovered aged 5 yr named Wangui.

A man passes on a bicycle, the tires swishing in the dust. Two boys standing on a cart pulled by three donkeys round the corner of a dirt track, and the driver's tinny cellphone blares out, garish against the gentler sounds of twittering birds.

Parent reunited with the child Wangui.

Romantic Man Uses the Smoothest Strategy to Return a Woman’s Lost Phone

People who lose their phones usually never get to see it again.
One woman who lost her phone not only got her phone and credit cards back, but also landed a date with an incredibly romantic guy. That was the nice surprise Monica Cook, a resident of New South Wales, Australia, had when she logged onto her Facebook to find a post on her account addressed to her.
Luke, the man referred only by his first name, found Cook’s phone on a train around Edgecliff Station in Sydney’s eastern suburbs according to the Daily Mail. With limited ways to contact her, he logged onto her Facebook to let her know that her phone was safe and that he had turned it in along with her Opal card, credit card and $50 in her phone case to the Town Station.
He included his business card along with it and joked that they would probably have a few laughs about this incident later on. He even did her the courtesy of swiping right on his dating profile on Tinder.
